Guruvayur Temple Dress Code 2026 — What to Wear for Darshan
Strict dress code enforced · Men: white dhoti, shirt removed · Women: saree or full churidar · Dhoti rental ₹50–₹150 near East Nada.
Guruvayur Temple enforces one of the strictest traditional dress codes among temples in India. The dress rules exist to maintain the sanctity of Lord Guruvayurappan's divine abode and are strictly upheld by Devaswom security. Non-compliance means you will be turned away at the gate — no exceptions.
👗 Our homestay team reminds every guest about dress code before they leave for the temple. Dhoti rental shops are available 30 metres from our East Nada property. We guide you to them personally.
